Verification of competency FAQs
How long does a VOC take and what’s involved?
The process includes both a theory component with a test and a practical component where you’ll operate the machine. Depending on the complexity of the equipment and the task, training can take anywhere from 2 hours to a full day or longer.
How long do VOCs last?
Our nationally accredited VOCs last 2 years. However, electricians must have their LVR and CPR renewed every 12 months.
What’s the benefit of onsite verification of competency?
Onsite VOC provides real working conditions in the same machinery they’ll be operating in day-to-day. This gives them practical experience and a clear understanding of their role in the operation.
Plus, onsite training is more cost-effective than sending your workers to an RTO and paying for travel and accommodation.
